Over the past two years, I have had the absolute honor to work with Nicole first as a volunteer trainer, then social media manager, and eventually as the Head Trainer & Programmer for the nonprofit I founded, Adaptively Abled.  I have had the privilege to witness Nicole’s knowledge, dedication, passion, coaching, and mentorship positively impact the lives of every single athlete she encounters. Along my own coaching journey, Nicole has helped to mentor and shape me into the trainer and coach I am today and I am eternally grateful. I can only hope to one day emulate all the qualities of a top-notch coach that Nicole possesses.

There are two places in this world that I have truly felt I am myself: in the pool and at adaptively abled fitness with Coach Nicole. There is such a motivating feeling, a weight lifted off your shoulders when you can truly be who you are. With adaptively abled fitness' seven week program, I have felt what it truly means to be yourself.

Thanks to Nicole's programming and attention to detail, I have the strength to carry not only more in the gym and in the pool -  additionally my identity as an athlete with a disability has strengthened. The community of support and fitness and the focus on the whole person is un-parallel. This program is a model for the mindset that the rest of society needs to embrace for those of us with disabilities. It , and its coaches, has the power to create a huge ripple effect if given the funding and recognition.

As a new member to the adaptive athlete world, I was fortunate to be introduced to Nicole. She was extremely knowledgeable and found the perfect balance of pushing me while ensuring we  trained at a proper pace throughout my healing. Crossfit was a big part of my life prior to my surgery and with her coaching prowess we were able to compete in the Crossfit Games 21 in the adaptive division only a month after getting onto my new legs. Her coaching skills, knowledge and most importantly her kindness was a recipe for my success in regaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
